4/5 week old chick question

So this is my second set of spring chickens and feel like i have forgotten a lot.

They are stinky! And i don’t remember what normal chick poop is. There seems to be a few piles of pretty runny and stinky poop in the brooder. Every one is acting fine and eating and moving like normal. Is this normal?

Also this is my first straight run. I have a 3 foot high brooder box and they are trying to jump on the top ledge! I have a lid but it doesn’t allow for as good of air flow so i was trying to keep it open. And those little buggers are dead set on trying to get out. Is the jumping a roo thing or did i just have a super chill chicks last year?

I know with my chicks, I had to keep a cover on the brooder to keep them from getting out, especially by that age. I've done it 3 times and never ended up with roos, so I think that's fairly normal behavior

Is the runny stinky poop a rich orangey/brown color? That is cecal poop, normal

At 4/5 weeks 3 feet sides are nothing for either sex. Lay poultry netting over the top.
How many chicks and how much square footage? At this age they are ready to transition out of the brooder, is their next area ready?

It seems like they want to perch on the brooder side? Do you have a different perch in there? Can you show pictures of the brooder set up?

Yes! It is very much like the cecal poop that my older flock does. But it just seemed to be more. How often should it be that consistency?
