I just noticed today while feeding my 6 week Americaunas and other breed pullets (they're outside in a chicken tractor with a mom and her 5 2-week old babies) that the back right above their tails were bald on a couple. So I grabbed one to look closer and the area is all scabbed up and the feathers are gone. I didn't notice any bugs or anything, and there aren't any open wounds. Also, I have 3 banties and 3 leghorns all the same age and none of them had anything like this going on. What could it be? It doesn't really look like pecking, or I think the wounds would be bloodier or more wound-like. it just looks like old scabbing and the feathers are gone. I will try to go and get a picture, maybe that would help.
Any ideas what it could be??
