4 chickens of different breed [help]

Tag for interest. That barred one looks like a mongrel Barred Rock. Even if it is mixed, or another breed, some things seem off about it...

how do you tag for interest?

so are you suggesting that it's a mixed breed?

and also, why does it seem off?

thanks.

I'm studying the Barred Rock SOP, so this that one jumped out at me. Keep in mind, I'm no expert, but since you asked I'll explain why (at the peril of making a fool of myself :)). First, it doesn't have wattles, which is weird even for a hen. Second has a big rooster sized comb (lacking any distinct points)--and again no wattles. Third, it has double barring which should indicate it's a male, but I dont see any hackles or sickle feathers. I'm just thrown off on basically every aspect of it.

this one is a rooster- im pretty sure because I've seen it want to mate the hen, crow and fight with my other rooster

also it does have hackle feathers (just not very prominent), and also sickle feathers: a mixture of striped black and white and green.

Is he the same one in the background of the second to last pic? I thought that looked loke a totally different bird, but I guess it could just be the angles. That is definitely a roo. I was focusing on the one frontal image. It is always hard for me to see BR hackles, but the color at least matches with a roo. I do not believe pure bred BR's have green tail feathers though, so I'm guessing it is a mix.

Maybe frostbite took off the spikes of his comb (and his wattles?). I guess the main thing that freaks me out is not seeing wattles. :D Maybe that is a common defect I just never noticed before. Waiting to see what others say.

Yes- it's same chicken
I only have 4
one is barred, one is a black hen and one is a yellow hen and the last one is a black rooster (with orange features around his neck)

so is it abnormal NOT having wattles? will it have a negative impact on him?

Missing wattles is not normal, but I doubt it will affect his health, I suspect they are mainly to cool blood, and to attract females. Rooster wattles are usually about 4x larger than hens.

The black one with the gold on its neck looks like a rose combed Black Copper Marans. (I think pure BCM's are supposed to have single combs though). Does it lay brown eggs? EDIT - never mind, rooster lol.

but what do you think about the breed for the yellow hen and the black hen?

I'm slacking haha. At first Inwas thinking that one was a black sex link, so I got hen stuck in my head. But truly I do not know much about show breeds, like Americauna or Polish, which look similar to the first one, and I have no clue at all on the other black one. You'll get actual experts replying in a few hours when the sun comes up in America. ;)
