Hello all,
I was super happy that 9/12 shipped eggs hatched. Everyone seemed fine and healthy. No runny poops or pasty butts. They are on medicated feed. It seemed like everyone was eating and drinking although I don't know that for a fact (they all look pretty much the same - they are RIR Bantams). I have them in a Rubbermaid tub for a brooder, with a layer of sawdust for cushion and puppy pee pads over that. I change the pads twice a day.
This morning when I went to change the pads, they were all sleeping together. One of them didn't get up, and already had rigor mortis. Could he have gotten squished? There are only 9 in there. None of then are sneezing or exhibiting any symptoms that I can tell. I'm sad for the one we lost but also worried about the others. Any advice?
