We just took in 3 2 day old rescued keets and I am worried about one of them. They are 4 days old now. It's legs are tucked underneath it and it walks on it's elbows/knees with it's feet up by it's chest. I have given it Vit E,from the tip of my finger; I am adding Vit B suppliments in it's water, and have been giving it scrambled eggs in addition to the turkey chick starter. It's 2 siblings are doing very well, but when I change the bedding, water, etc. I have to take "Knucklehead", as I affectionately call him, out and put him in a little box until I have the brooder cleaned up, otherwise his siblings trample him. He seems to eat and drink well, and chirps. I do notice when he is in the box that he poops, so I know he is eating, right? He is the same size right now as his siblings, but I am worried that he will not get all he needs. I have seen splints for Splay legs, but this is not that. I am wondering if there is anything I can do for him other than the suppliments. I spoke with my vet and she said do what I am doing and give it time. I know there is a time issue, and want to do all I can while he is little before he gets past the correction point. Any ideas?
