4 day old LB chick hurt legg

I have a chick with injured legg another chick jumped on it off the food tray and it has been limping around/ the legg at the elbow has started to swell is there anything i can do already moved him out on his own they eat medicated food and electrolites and vitamins.what can i do about pain and swelling?

Of course, you could take him to an avian vet. But if you're not able to do that, keep him with another buddy - just one meek and gentle one to keep him from being too worried about being alone, keep him eating and drinking, etc. Then keep him in a smaller cage than you normally do.

Otherwise watch him and let us know how he does, or if there are any changes.

There's an article this month in BackYard Poultry magazine on a chick that injured its leg & all it went through. It is important that it does not set wrong so a vet may need to splint it-- the chick in the article even had a cast. It does not need to heal wrong-- but heal and calcify straight.

I can not feel anything broken he lifts and lowers his leg but does not put weight on it

Tomorrow if the bird cannot bear weight on it, let us know or please do take her to a vet.
