I agree. At Rural King, fancier breed chicks are about $6, but they are in the $10 range ordered from McMurray. What doesn’t make sense is $8 for mutts.

To be fair anything we cross that will lay a colored egg is a 'mutt'I agree.
update? There is another Leghorn and another Leghorn game in there still but they aren’t doing anything. Going to leave them for another day. 75% hatch rate ain’t too shabby!
There are other sources of protein besides meat. Eggs and legumes are exmples. Vegetarians typically live longer than meat-eaters.
Until he ends up with a bunch of chicks he can't sell. Not having to build a coop will save $$
I'd rather buy them locally than online even at $8 a chick. At least I'd get to see them before buying them plus I'd get to take them homeI agree.
I prefer the hatching egg's, and bringing them into the world myself. Everyone has their own likes of doing thing's when it comes to chick's.I'd rather buy them locally than online even at $8 a chick. At least I'd get to see them before buying them plus I'd get to take them home
I never wanted to hatch my own artificially but I finally caved and made an incubator to hatch some recently . I've only had one hen go broody and hatch chicks and she abandoned the flock after her chicks were grown.Shes a house chicken now.I prefer the hatching egg's, and bringing them into the world myself.
