4 day old

Some chicks and ducklings get on. Your duckling will be a lot bigger than a chick that hatched the same day, and will grow faster and so extra care is needed. You might try the duckling and chick together under close supervision, initially, and see how they get on.
I think I’ve found Muscovy ducklings. Ok with Runners?

I have a Muscovy female that loves her Runner /Buff family. So yes a Muscovy will be fine.
If they grow up together they will communicate fine.
My other Muscovy pay no attention to the Runners and Buffs.

Hows the eye looking?

Only problem would be if you end up with a drake and your only planning on getting one Muscovy duckling. But you don't know the breed of your lone duckling either. So best to try because it will be a while before you know sex of them. One drake and one female would not be a good outcome for a lone female, drakes have very high testosterone.

Eye looks very normal today 😊

Ah, I’m nervous about choosing this companion.

Here’s a family photo. Their owner was kind enough to let one of them go with us, my son picked the little mallard we’re calling Banjo. What a good mama, I’d read that Runners don’t usually go broody.
