If you do geese, pairs are best. Otherwise one hen will always be left out. The gander will have a favorite goose and ignore the other. So do pairs. If the goose and gander are bonded it would probably be fine to pen them together. I've never tried it though.

My input is very short and blunt, so don't take it the wrong way, here it is. You have created tons of threads the last month explaining all of your problems that you are having keeping/maintaining your flock, you don't sound ready or able to be buying/adding new birds to your flock, especially GEESE. You need to figure out your current situation before you go off buying new birds because all that's going to happen is more problems.

i’m moving in a few months, then getting the geese and call ducks in the spring. i’ve solved my problems (one big drake is staying at the farm with our other drake we rehome awhile ago, and we will make the other two big drakes a seperate coop from our girl) and then the newest two, if they are boys we will try to make it work and if not rehome them. then the calls and geese will live together, and if we need to rehome the boys, our girl will live with the calls (2-3 hens and a drake) and then the geese (either a pair or a trio) it’s not really my fault i ended up with so many drakes, but i did solve the problem (not to mention some of the drakes are not even mine, they are my brothers who he does not care for)

Bad idea, IMNSHO. Geese are huge, call are small, they should not be kept together.

why not? if they get along i don’t see any reason why they cannot be kept together. geese and mallards live together at my local duck pond and get along fine

Mallards (while still smaller) are way closer to a goose's size than a call duck. They're small little things

Annnnd those wild birds have a whole lot more space to get away from each other than birds that are penned together. In my experience, even one goose, no matter how well they get along with the other poultry can do some serious damage to a full grown duck if it feels so inclined. Why would you want to put your tiny calls in a situation that will very likely end with them being injured or killed by birds much larger, and much more territorial than they are? If you want geese as flock protectors, give them their own digs with no one else encroaching on their space, at the very least for bed time accommodations. Lots of people free range everyone together but house them separately. Then at least if there is an issue between groups nobody winds up dead in the morning.

maybe i’ll try that... but that would be atleast three different pens my parents will need to build
