Hello!! I’m looking for a home that has a good female:male ratio, supplies proper nutrition and daily clean swimming/drinking water, has secure nighttime housing, and a decent sized yard. The owner would keep an eye on the ducks’ health looking for possible health or environmental issues. Also, supply comfortable shelter in the winter. My ducks are accustomed to coming up for treats when called and love to eat treats out of your hand. I have a 5x7 duck house, a 300 gallon pool, and various other supplies that could come with them if needed. I’d bring everything to you and am willing to drive pretty far. I’m in Southwest Indiana.

The reason I’m looking for rehoming options now is because I graduate college in a couple of months and anticipate getting a job, saving up, and moving out of my parent’s house in about 6~12months. This means I either have to purchase a starter home with some land right out the gate for my ducks or move into a rental and have to rehome them. This is a hard decision because my goal is to own a starter home with a bit of land within a few years anyway and ducks fit into the lifestyle I want. So I’d hate to give my flock to a new home and I know it would tear me to pieces :(

However, there are so many unknowns for what the next few years will be like and I can’t base everything on my ducks as much as I wish I could. I will need a back up plan for my ducks when it comes down to it.

I have 1 male Pekin (named Jetson) who is 7mo old I took in at 3 weeks old from someone who bought ducklings around Easter and failed in caring for them; all but him died. He had niacin deficiency when I got him, so despite proper nutrition from me, he still has somewhat bowed legs, but he seems to be just as able bodied as the others. He gets around and can preen well.

I have 3 girls that are a little over a year old. They’ve been cared for by me since a couple days old . 1 Rouen (Piper), 1 black Swedish (Harriet), 1 mallard (Mallory)

Thank you for reading and contact me if interested! I will likely post this a few times to reach out to as many possible new homes as I can to find the best fit.

Great ducks! I'd be gladly willing to have you drive to my house somewhere in the middle of nowhere without knowing me. Also, to fund taking care of the ducks I will need your credit card info and social security number. Bring them over whenever you want, ill be waiting!

THIS IS NOT AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE: Do not offer to drive to peoples houses. Arrange a mutual pickup location in a public area. We here at backyard chickens 🐔 want to keep our users safe. Make sure to keep yourself and your info secure online!

Now to go eat some ice cream... username relevant
