These pics were texted to me by the hubs.... I will certainly get better pictures tonight when I get home!
So dads pictures were a little misleading, especially in the color representation. Here's the little cuties I found when I got home. (No feathers on legs at all that I see)

So as my chicks grow - should I continue to post pics in this thread, or do most people start a new thread? I'm still new to this so I want to make sure I don't bombared everyone with pictures/posts, but I don't want to loose the conversation either? I went back to my post from last year and updated the breeds I was asking for help with there, but it doesn't appear anybody noticed the update...Just want to know what's appropriate here :)

maybe if you put in the title Update then people will look at it. I'm not too sure about standard breeds except that the dark one is indeed a gold laced wyandotte. Replying to this post will be great- we will probably receive notifications.

Sad news chicken peeps. We woke up Monday morning and Lemonade (our yellow chick with the stripe) had passed overnight. She showed no signs of stress or illness through the day, but regardless we had to say goodbye. Luckily the other 2 seem to be doing well, and the 4-H club was on the ball ordering 'extras' because now we have Lemonade II. She is a much lighter, vibrant yellow chick with white wings (same age, so 9 days hatched) I will be posting a new pic as soon as I get one of her! As for the casualty, there seem to have been many in this shipment. I don't know what is normal but out of 80 chicks, around 15 have passed, most of them in the care of the extension leader, not the kids....Our chick however, appeared wet under the neck and chest, and I am hypothesizing she played/fell/got pushed into the water dish overnight and couldn't recover from the stress and/or the water. We have moved them into a larger tote with more floor-space since then.
