Is anyone here in 4-H?

Not me, but I meet a lot of 4-H'ers every summer as I raise show-quality silkies. They buy them, raise them up, and show them. I hear a couple got ribbons.

What do you do in 4-H?

I show horses, cattle, goats, pigs, dogs and chickens

I do shooting sports. I shoot BB Gun, Air Pistol, .22 Pistol, .22 Rifle and archery.

I also do special foods and public presentation.

I will usually show about 20 static exhibits.

yeah..it does keep me super busy but I love it.....we except special foods my mom makes me do that but I hate it

This summer I showed 2 pigs, 1 market steer, 1 calf, 1 goat, 15 chickens and 1 dog.

I had a Hampshire breeding gilt that I named Sparkles.

That's really neat!

I miss raising pigs. We had all that you mentioned when I was growing up. Now it's just chickens, ducks, parrots, parakeets, dogs, cats, and a chinchilla. All small stuff.

I showed my market steer that I named Seabiscuit.
I showed Seabiscuit when he was a calf and he won 2024 Grand Champion BeefBuilder Calf and this year when I showed him he won Grand Champion BeefBuilder Market Steer!! He was my only steer to win Grand Champion both years. here are some pics of Seabiscuit

We raised Angus, but ours weren't for showing; they were for eating. We didn't get into 4-H when I was a kid. Sort of wish we had!
