4-H

I have LaMancha does so I guess I'd do dairy too

Prepare for the questions!

How often does 4-H meet?
What do you do while there?
Are there specific 4-H shows?
Could I do dairy goats and Poultry?
What would my goat have to know? The doe I have in mind came from show lines.

Thanks!

All right! Of course the first few questions will vary for where you live, but things *should* be similar.

- Round here, we meet once a month.

-We go over a bunch of things, little 4-H projects, charity projects, workshops, and fair cleanup.

-Depends on what your question means. 4-H doesn't go in the ring with FFA, but they go to the same fiargrounds and show on the same day (Around here)

- Yes, you can do up to 5 animals. (Around here)

-Not much. She has to be able to be led by a collar, and stand still in the right position.

Something you HAVE to do is contact the 4-H office, to get yourself signed up. You might know where the 4-H office is, and if you don't, check the phone book, or see if any local 4-H folk could give you the 4-H leader's number.

NOTES: It's probably too late to show this year, there is a deadline for showing in fair. Since fair is so close, there might be one more meeting before fair. After fair, around here, we don't meet again until January. When you get signed up, you will have to fill out forms (For both you and your animals) and pay dues. (Round here it's 3 bucks) There is a showing fee, (Since you animal will stay on fair property) For goats, it's $5, for poultry, $1.

Hope this helped! Don't hesitate to holler if you have any more questions! :)

some states/counties are dif, but it best to follow the rules now then be told you cant show your goat that you work hard with and *some people maybe not* payed alot for, because it has horns

i show in horses mainly, but on the side (IF the shows are close ) i would do a rabbit show, someday XD i also am gonna do dairy, and a meat goat.

she is a fuzzy lop, and in the state we are in, there is only 3 breeders, we are getting a buckling for my doe, and in a few years we are gonna breed, hopefully being the 4rth breeder here :D

There aren't many breeders here, so the avalibility and price of rabbits changes depending on if a single breeder has kits. We used to be big into rabbits, but we got rid of most of them, down to 2 (Not for long, mama rabbit's nesting, don't tell my dad!) :p

Have a really nice looking buck, wish I could show someday, but don't think it'll happen...

(BTW they're california whites)
