4 legged chick Clover

Good to hear that Clover has a good prognosis.

Did the vet say that the extra legs absolutely needed to be removed? Could she have just as happy and healthy a life with the extra set of legs? Did the vet confirm the sex?
sex was confirmed and they think the legs will grow with her so she wouldn’t be as happy of clean as she could be.

@admin, could this thread be featured, please?

And, OP, could we got some clearer pics in white light, Pleeeeeze, showing all 4 limbs, perhaps with somebody holding the chick gently in one hand and pointing with the other? That would be just awesome? When does amputation thake place?

That's wonderful news that they'll be able to safely amputate the legs! She'll get to live as an almost normal girl :) My Ripley was never at the vet but I think amputation would've been impossible with her since she had basically a weird shaped extra hip bone fused to her spine. I'm happy to hear she'll be OK!

Here's a couple baby pictures of Ripley :)

Mmmm… how do i say this. I ordered 6 chicks from Cackle Hatchery, i was given 8! and one of them has 4 legs. I honestly don’t expect survival but it doesn’t seem to be in pain?? I’m not sure how I would tell… But I just don’t know what to do.
A four legged chick...must be from one of those hatcheries that breed for KFC or Popeye's...
