4 month old guineas look dark black with white dots, what color will they be?

I just came home with 7 four month old guineas. They look dark black and have white dots. The guineas I got earlier this year that are pearls were a soft gray with white dots.. They have stayed that color.

Will these new ones lighten up to a gray? My grays from this spring never got dark nor black like that. Or could it be that these new ones are not gray, but one of the other colors? One of the purple coloring of guinea?

They do have a lot of dots on them and the dots are a bright white. I don't know if that makes any difference in figuring out what color they really are.

It sounds like you may have some Royal Purple guineas. If so they will be partially pearled on the lower part of their body and very dark.
I'm not sure how dark a Slate would be, or if they are pearled, but they are more rare. A picture would help.
