4 month old roo

our amerucana roo this morning jumped on my red sex link hen and pecked her in the head. he had blood on his beak from that. also watched as he pinned another red sex link and she was very vocal she wasnt happy about that. I know its in his nature but I am worried he may seriously hurt one of the hens. theres 12 hens and him in one coop and run.

was hoping to keep him so we can hatch our own in the spring but not sure i want him now.

They can be a bit overeager and clumsy at first. Is the hen hurt badly? Are the hens the same age as the rooster? If so, the roosters mature faster than the pullets, so she may not be ready for mating yet.

the one he pecked in the head and drew blood is a month older than him and the one he cornered is the same age they are 4 months. I want to keep him but i am worried he may severely hurt them. The one he pecked seems ok she isnt acting different.
