So, the day before yesterday, I had a friend over and I was doing her nails. She has 3 daughters and two of them wanted to play with the chickens. I have a variety of 3.5 & 4 month old chickens, so I didn’t think anything of it. Next thing you know, her youngest (3) is carrying around my littlest, fluffiest, silkie. By the time I got to her to tell her to put it down, she was just carrying my poor baby around like a rag doll. 😭 I watched her the next day, she was moving very slowly. Then today, she wouldn’t move when it was time to come out of the coop. I’ve brought her inside, she has food mixed with the selenium and vit e, I scrambled her some eggs, and gave her some sugar water. She is walking around and shaking off, but hasn’t eaten or drank yet. I have checked for injuries and there are no visible injuries that I see. She seems weak and is making small chirp sounds. Is she just in shock maybe? Is there anything else I can do right now? I am going to be so upset if she doesn’t make it. I will never let any children play with my chickens again! This has traumatized me!
