What a cute little one! It looks like a cockerel. But with birds it so tough. I've been raising fowl & birds all my life & I'm still wrong 50% of the time. I got some silkies for my birthday one year, guaranteed to be females. They all started laying eggs, except one laid these nearly quarter sized eggs. Then after a year it started to crow, while still laying tiny eggs. Then he / she stopped.
Then he really became a he & has fathered us a new flock!! So ya' never know with more primitive life forms. I just tell people if the feathers around the neck, the hackles & the rear back feathers , saddle feathers, start to grow in pointed & long , it's a rooster. If those feathers stay blunt or rounded, it's a hen.
