Hi all!

I have a chick showing the symptoms as the title says - fluffed out, wings down, head tucked and seeking the brooder plate more than the others. I noticed yellow foamy poops with the 8 I have in the brooder inside and suspected Coccidiosis as I wasn’t giving them medicated feed.
I hatched them out myself, brooding inside and I don’t have other poultry as these are my first chicks. Switched to medicated feed and started treatment with corid on Monday. It’s Thursday now and no other chicks show any signs other than some off poops here and there. The chicks in question seems about the same and seems a bit weaker than the others.

Am I being impatient hoping the chick gets better faster or is there something else that could be going on? It’s a Polish chick. I have one other that seems strong and all others seem fine. Any insight appreciated.

If they haven't been outside its highly unlikely they have coccidiosis as its a parasite found in soil. What are you feeding and do you have a picture of your brooder setup?

Hopefully you can see the feed breakdown. The brooder is lined with a plastic sheet. Pine shavings over top and cardboard around to replace for easier cleaning. I did have moisture problems when they were knocking over waterer a few times but that stopped about a week ago.

The "foamy" poop, could be cecal or due to the temp in your brooder ... Color due to feed, doubt very much it's coccidia.

Not sure what you mean about the wing, picture would help.
I’ll try and get a picture tomorrow. They are just pointed down more and not held up close to the body.
Brooder is heat plate only no other heat source.
He cheaps pretty consistently too but still comes out with the others just seems weaker and hunched down. Perhaps just failing to thrive for some reason? From shipped eggs.

You can make the chick a mash of their regular feed with egg yolk and a little Nutri-Drench. The others will want in on it so make enough for everyone but dip his beak in it for sure and watch that he gets some down. That always helps when I have a flagging chick.

Yes waterer there just not in pic. Cleaning out three times a day because they kick shavings in it constantly. Need to find something higher to put it on.
Waterer with corid since Monday. Holds about 8 cups of water and doing 1/4 tsp of corid but it seems that’s probably not the solution.
