Corid for 5 week chicks

Glad they are doing better.
1/2 teaspoon Powdered Corid is not the correct dosing.
I have been using 1 1/2 tsp not 1/2 tsp per gallon in the outdoor larger waterer and using a less dosage in the quart waterer inside the coop. Each day, changing for a fresh batch. Will continue through Saturday as that will be 6 days. As stated, there has still been any blood in any stool. How should it look solid or diarrhea? They are active, eating and drinking water mixed with Corid only. They get on the perch in the run and the one inside the coop. They are starting to use the ramp I built to go in and out of the coop rather than manually placing them from the run. Going to expand the run when additional material comes in. I will post pictures in my other forum (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/preparing-for-my-first-time-raising-baby-chicks.1654177/). Thanks again.

Notice a little bit of blood in poop. Can I mix corid into their water at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon to prevent coccidiosis in all my chicks?

Since the giving them the Corid mixture, there has been no blood in the stool.

There is still some blood in the stool or not?

Finish the course of treatment for a full 7 days at the rate of 1.5 (1 1/2tsp) Powdered Corid to 1 Gallon of drinking water.

At their age, you should see formed poop with a white cap and some Cecal poop which is a loose stinky sticky smelly pudding like poop which can be light tan to almost chocolate brown depending on diet.
Also do note that poop can be looser and more watery depending on water intake and what they eat too. For instance in the summer when it's hot and they consume a lot more water, poop may be looser or even a bit watery at times, but you should still see some 'formed'. If they eat watermelon (which is Yummy!) you'll see some watery poop.

Active, eating/drinking is great! Sounds like they are learning to use the ramp and are already roosting too! Nice. :)

Thanks for the reply. There has been NO blood in the stool after the second day of using Corid. There is "formed poop with white cap and some cecal poop. It is hot and humid right now and they have been consuming water. I have been giving them "Nature's Best Organic Chick starter/ grower crumble. We have had occasional showers and the run is covered with a tarp for protection from the rain, I covered the ramp with chicken wire on both sides and plastic sheeting over it. I have let them have free access to enter and exit the coop around dusk time once the door to that keeps them in the covered area is removed. Today and yesterday they went into the coop and I locked it. I will take and post additional pictures tomorrow. I tried giving them pieces of watermelon and they didn't go to it like my previous hens.

Wonderful!

I think they are doing just fine.

You have a nice group of little lovely ladies there. In time, they will learn that Watermelon is Yummy, but at this age, they can be a bit cautious about anything new.
