My 4 week old Easter Egger mix is showing signs of something wrong with her leg. She has always been a timid flighty bird so I am wondering if she was running away and slipped and strained her leg. It's a newer coop so only 4 inch of shavings over pressboard type flooring. She is putting weight on in but I can tell it's weak. When I pick her up I can tell she's using the other leg. I've also watched her walking around in the coop and sometimes her leg with just give out and she uses her wing to balance. It also looked as if she was trying too step to far ahead of herself if that makes sense?
No visual signs of injury, but I did seperate her to give her uninterrupted rest, however I am not sure if it is more Stressful her being away from the rest of the chicks.
I will just continue to monitor , just curious if anyone else has had this happen and of there anything else I should be doing for her?
