Hi, I have a group of 4-5 week old chicks that keep sneezing. Their behavior is super normal but their poop is a little runny and they sneeze often. I’ve only had them for about 5 days and I don’t think they were all sneezing when I brought them home. Could it be allergies or a cold? It’s usually around 78° in my house so I didn’t think they needed a heat lamp but I’ve decided to put one on to see if they like it more. Is there anything else I can do for them?

The important thing is to try and figure out if they are sneezing once in awhile because of something in the environment, such as dust in the coop or food, or a possible respiratory disease. What type of bedding are they on? Have you seen any watery nasal drainage, bubbles in eye, or swelling of the eyelids?

Right now they’re in a big plastic bin inside the house with shavings as bedding! I don’t see any nasal drainage or bubbles or swelling.
