Hi. Does anyone have experience with a duckling eating an earring. I'm concerned because it's titanium and I don't think it will grind down and worry that it will not pass through the bird. Thank you.

Ooops, how big was the earring? Did it have any pointy edges? How old is the duckling?
If the earring was small & not having pointy edges, it may pass, titanium won't rust nor corrode, not sure a Vet would be able to do anything. Hopefully it will pass & not get stuck along the way.

Once my hen actually took an earring out of my ear, but she passed it just fine. How big was the earring? Hens regularly eat pebbles to help grind up food in their gizard. U should Definetly try to keep them from eating metal, but mine have before and they were Ok.

Thank you. It's a smaller stud earring. It's pointy, but is a wider post width so has to have a decent amount of pressure on it to pierce something. I don't know which of my three ducklings took it so can't really take one to the vet unless it shows signs of being in distress which may be too late. It removed the titanium earring directly from my ear. Not sure how the duck did it so quickly.

Smaller than a stud? Its all fine. Ive seen a chicken eat a bottle cap before.
