Hello,
My Baby Buffs are 4 weeks old now and I need to pick up feed. When is it time to move on from the chick starter? I thought about Flock Raiser but then I saw this below and decided not too. My other ducks are on Layer feed. What do you suggest?

I was told flock raiser is fine from hatch through their life span. I do cut with a little cracked corn when they turned 7 weeks. Plus adding veggies to their diet. I will add oyster shell on the side once they start laying too.
The author of that website is just that - a blogger and an author. She repeats info and sometimes it is not correct.

I'm in Canada and get Duck specific feed.. It's 16% protein Duck Finisher feed. Many people I know feed a Turkey finisher at 17% protein.
I add in a bit of Old style scratch grain and Oat and Barley crumble..I supply oyster shell separately..

I use All Flock or Grower, whichever my feed store has in stock and/or whichever has the freshest date on the strip. My chicks (assorted ages), layers, roosters, and freeloaders all eat it, and they do just fine. A little oyster shell on the side and I'm good to go.

Edited...oops, you were talking about ducks. Sorry. I thought you were asking about chicks. But I'll leave my post up in case someone with the same question pops in to the wrong forum like I did.
