4 week old gosling with messed up leg since it’s hatched

Any advice how to help him? I can’t afford to get him surgery. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a solution?

So we embarked on the journey of ducklings. One of them, seems like the runt has gotten a medium size marble lump on its neck. We have been trying to be attentive to this and trying to figure out what’s going on. It doesn’t seem to hurt! Still drinking water but it is eating minimum meals if any.. we have been trying to feed baby formula things through a dropper and it takes to it ... we just don’t want it to die. It has not been being trampled or bullied from what we can tell .... PLEASE Help

@AnonGoose Is the foot flexible at all? Typically, people create little shoes for goslings and ducklings born with curled feet.

No his foot is not flexible at all. It’s stiff when he walks. I will post a video of him walking

A video would definitely help so we can see what's going on, mechanically. Also, what are you feeding and do you add any supplements?

I would take you gosling to a vet you trust. I don’t think there is anything you can do but get a vet to examine. Do you think it’s in pain?

Oh, poor babe.

I agree with the vet suggestion - looks like he would benefit from a knowledgeable person examining him for broken bones or sprains, and then possibly a cast.

In the meanwhile, I would suggest a lot of water therapy. Warm water (so he doesn't chill), just deep enough for him to float in, and always supervised. B-complex vitamins would also probably help him - I get the B-Complex tablets from the grocery store and dissolve them in a gallon jug to use as their drinking water.

x3 on vet exam recommendation. Do you have something textured, like rubbery shelf liner, that you could put in on the brooder floor to give him better traction? He may be able to get around a little better.
