We have run into one of our geese having dropped wings and we don’t know how to help her properly, we provide fresh food + water

They recently hatched out a gosling and weee wondering if she’s trying to provide shelter for it there’s six adults including her 2 males and 4 females. Has anybody else had this problem?? She’s not elderly by any means she’s around three years old but the rest of the flock are fine

What feed is she on? Is she doing this continually?

Of she just got off the nest after a long broody cycle she could be recovering, she’ll need to replenish her weight and nutrients so she could just be feeling weak.

She is doing this almost all day and she is eating oats wheat and barley mix with some layer feed so it’s a bit diverse they’re free range and we have 10 acres that they roam for natural grazing and ponds for them to swim in. She has also been sitting a lot more than usual, she travels with the flock through the yard though

Birds that aren’t laying shouldn’t eat layer feed. Excess calcium if not absorbed and used to create egg shells build up easily in the bloodstream and can impair kidney function. Excess calcium also binds to nutrients which can lead to deficiencies.

If you can switch to a feed oriented to waterfowl or a mixed flock. Flock raiser type feeds is also fine. Also if you can add a multivitamin mix to their water.
