4 week old silkie chick having seizures, please help!

I am hoping that they help. also. Try giving him some vitamin E along with it...he is so tiny...maybe 100 ius a day. Just get the gel capsules and clip off the end and squeeze it into his beak. Vitamin E is good for these types of things.

I agree with leadwolf and eggsoteric- it sounds like wry neck.

I disagree with this post #5 because my understanding is that "wry neck" can ALSO be caused by injury - not just a vitamin deficiency. But it makes the very good point that we see threads on BYC every so often with somersaulting silkies, treatment for wry neck initiated.

I believe you have a pecking injury on your hands. It only takes one very hard peck to the silkie head to cause brain swelling.

Thank you all for your help. I just wanted to give an update: the next day after I posted this he only had two or three the whole day (which was great compared to his several an hour) and the day after that he had none! He hasn't had any since and he's getting bigger each day!

NCgirl, Right or wrong info, people are giving you advice they believe will help. It's really up to you what advice seems right for your bird.
Silkies are prone to head injuries. Some of the symptoms can be caused by the swelling on the brain from the injury. Some recover when the swelling goes down. I hope that's what happened with your silkie.
