There was blood. My little RIR was getting tail feathers broken, so I had to make a judgement call. I’m not sure it was the right one, but I just don’t want to risk another potentially more serious injury. We made them an area where they are still among the others, sort of. They just can’t intermingle. We fenced off an area that attaches to their brooder. With us leaving for vacation Friday, I just don’t feel comfortable leaving them in someone else’s hands while trying to mix them. I treated the RIR with vetricyn and blu kote. I separated her for a bit to make sure the bleeding had stopped. I coated her butt really well again before putting her in with the rest of the babies. All is going well and they aren’t pecking at it, thankfully. I hope everyone has enjoyed their long weekend.
