4 Year Old Son vs. Roosters

I have young kids, and I have a rooster. But I would not keep the rooster if he starts trying to attack the kids. There are rules for how to behave around the chickens. No screaming, yelling, or running are big ones. When the chickens are out of the run for free range time, the kids are not allowed to ride their bikes (training wheels on a mostly gravel driveway). The kids are never left unsupervised with the chickens. Some roosters are just aggressive, and will attack anything they perceive as weak, or a threat.
My boy is smart enough to know that my dogs in their fenced yard are not a threat to his girls, but the coyote that wandered onto the property last month got a good flogging. Like Folly's Place stated,
Stupidity doesn't get to reproduce in my flock,

I have a young rooster and two children, 1 and 3yrs old. The rooster, Ninja, art led my children on several occasions to assert his dominance over my children. He is fine around my girlfriend and I. I put an end to the attacks immediately by kicking him away, not hard just enough to get him away, then I caught him and made my kids hold his head down and hold his beak shut. I told my three year old to step at the chicken and yell with his hands in the air if he ever sees the chickens feathers ruffle. So far we haven't had any incidents in 2 months. I saw ninja ruffle the feathers at my 1 yr old and quickly kicked him away and chased him. My kids have stopped trying to grab him or the others near him which def helps. I'm hoping things continue to go well because once his spurs are in and he tries anything he will be in a pot. Not worth the risk. There are a lot of horror stories out there about kids and roosters
