I got my 3 hens at 15 weeks old this last August. They are currently almost 40 weeks.

My EE/Salmon Faverolle = lays 1 light brown egg 5-6 days per week. Started around 28 weeks.

My EE/Ameracauna = lays 1 blue/green egg every other day; we’ll say 4 per week. Started around 34 weeks.

EE/Houdan (at least that’s what we think she is - picture attached). She will be 40 weeks and still no eggs. We’re in WI.
Is it just bad timing with the seasons or something?

With only 3 hens, I’d really prefer to have all 3 laying. My other 2 took a break during the cold snap, but they just started back up. Nothing from brown chicken, tho. :/ She has also always been missing half her longer tail feathers. She basically has a rump. Lots of fuzz and she’s healthy, though. No mites or anything like that.

I’m a complete newbie here but my hens only started laying when I gave them a few mealworms daily. I was advised to do that as they don’t have bugs and insects in the winter. They’re free range. Born on 28/06/17
She’s lovely though.
I have Silkies and they laid late (I felt) too.

I would guess that if they are healthy and have a good diet, which is the case because most are laying, that it is just because of the timing with the seasons. I was expecting a Silkie hen to lay this winter but she never did...maybe she will in the spring? Give your hen some time but if she still isn't laying in the spring/summer I don't know what to tell you.

Thanks! Yep, she gets some mealworms and boss as treats. Plenty of protein. Eats them right up lol.

Thanks! Yes, we’ll see. Hopefully she lays in the spring for us. I’m getting antsy with her!

I have a mixed flock of five chickens. All began laying between 24 and 30 weeks, but my Welsummer just laid her first at 43!!! We live in Massachusetts so weather I’m sure had something to do with it. She looked healthy and energetic so I wasn’t worried. I figured when she was ready it would happen.
