40's Favorites

Thank you for that uplifting dose of nostalgia! I LOVE black-and-white movies from that era, along with the music. Many movies made around the WWII seemed to want to unite folks and raise their spirits. The Andrews Sisters certainly did their part.

In the last couple of years, I have introduced my sister to Christmas and holiday movies she had never heard of -- including "Christmas in Connecticut," "The Shop Around the Corner" and "It Happened on Fifth Avenue." that have the happy endings I enjoy. Who needs realism when you can have happy?

The original "Thin Man" movie is one of my all-time favorites. Myrna Loy is a gem as Nora Charles.

Life just seems simpler and happier in black and white, doesn't it?
