I collect my eggs daily. If you are going to collect eggs over a period of days, the best thing to do is collect them daily and store them in an egg carton in a cool place (between 55-65F) until you have how many you want and then set them under the broody when you are ready. Most people won't collect or more than a week. The recommended is 10 days or less. Washing hands prior to handling eggs for incubation is advised. Thanks Amy. Do you know how long an egg can sit in the nest box before I have to move it under the broody hen? Should I wear latex gloves? I'm trying to figure out why all the eggs have flopped so far.
