How much should I charge for a dozen fresh eggs???? Thanks for the help. Who knew chickens would be fun....

It depends on your location. I tried to do $2 this year, but I am back to $1.50

Some people on here can get $3-4 a dozen.

Check your CL and see what people are charging, also drive around and look at other signs. Are eggs really popular in your area?? Do you have much competition? You have to take all of these things into account.

Ditto. I put in a mix of all different colors, light tan, almost pink, light brown, dark brown, light green, and white. My customers are thrilled with the different colors.

$2-3 depending...some customers have been with me for a long time when $2 was the going rate. Because those customers are few and generally loyal, weekly customers I leave them at the original $2 price. Because the price of feed and gasoline (I deliver to most of our egg customers) have increased significantly this year, new customers are paying $3. Finally, if I get buried in eggs there's a local breakfast cafe that will buy our excess eggs for $2 per dozen...better than wasting them away if business is slow. But that only tends to happen a few times each year.

Ours are $3 a dozen and we continuously have a waiting list. Ive never had a problem with anyone thinking that was too much.
