I found a place near here on craigslist that sells 'fresh farm eggs'. I may have to drop by tomorrow and see if they are fertile as I really want another 2 dozen eggs.

Hey folks!

I'm barely present right now, but I'll be joining in, as usual. This will be my last batch for a long while because I've got a burgeoning business, I've taken on my job full-time (since spring which is why I've been MIA) and now I'm having my elderly, blind, wheel-chaired Grama moving in with us...so it's been a whirlwind year!!

Anyway, I'll be setting some ducks, who will obviously hatch later, and I'll set a bunch of Chocolates: Marans, Silkies, Cochins, d'Uccles, Ameraucanas and Orps. I don't know numbers until I see what's been laid while I've been out of town the last 2 days, but I'll tell you when I know. 

I have to clear the incubator of all the chicks in it right now...lots of Chocolates, some of Jim's (Iowa Blues plus some surprise eggs) he sent for MyABCs3 that I hatched for her, and some Konzas. I'm ready for a break, but felt like I needed to join you all!

btw- MrHeinz77- I need to know what in the world the unknown eggs were you sent MyABCs3 because they hatched while I was out of town and I can't tell who is what without knowing all of the options...I have too many variables in there of my own!!

Happy hatching, everyone, and don't forget to get your Ecoglow or Sweeter Heater for the chicks...it's the best thing for that brooding stage.

And I can set my eggs that arrive tomorrow after noon?

Yes you can set them after noon (just not before noon) for the first chick contest. I will have to set my own later too, because of appointments most of the day.

Ouch! Hope the eggs were double boxed. I got eggs from an ebay seller last year who wrapped the eggs in a tissue and placed them in an egg carton which was put in shipping carton with some crumpled newspaper around. when it arrived at my house the box was crushed like yours; I cried.

Well, I'm trying not to stress and just enjoy the ride. I took a deep breathe before opening the boxes (both were crunched) and all eggs are intact. 32 so far, another delivery not here yet. I started candling to check air cells, couldn't really tell what I was looking at and then realized...what am I going to do if the air cells are detached? I'm going to set them anyway. So I tucked everyone back in their egg cartons and hope to receive my last package tomorrow.

My White Crested Black Polish and wheaten/blue wheaten Ameraucanas are all set in their bator and ready to rumble (I'm not participating in the contests, just here for the hatch-along part). I want New Year's Eve babies and New Year's Day babies so I set them tonight. lol I have to say though...I'm excited about getting a new bator for Christmas...I don't like the temp control (or lack thereof) with this hova-bator.

OUCH!! What on earth?? I read forward and see the eggs weren't broken, so that is definitely good. I hope they hatch for you!!

That's good to hear. I'm pretty sure you know not to turn them for a few days after you set them!

My phone clock still works with no service.
In process of getting clarification, I'm new please don't be mad. I'm learning this thing there are 25 contest and I'm trying to keep it all together. 

Oh no not mad. Im sorry i didnt mean it like that.I just didnt want everyone to set and not take pictures and be disquaified.Forgive me if i came across as been mad im not at all.
