set 116 for this hatch had 74 in there and set 7 turkey and 2 duck eggs today as well. why did i wait so long to change out my heating for my bator? lmao cut my rebound time by nearly 2/3... totally worth the lack of sleep

But so far the graph shows a steady and solid temp/humidity. Hope this helps me for my first hatch!

Would someone running these contests explain whats happenin to me Im really confused , I submitted my answer for the total number of eggs on a form days ago following the link giveing to me??
But Now theres a thread and we just guess, ???? if its open for awhile cant they just go count the eggs from the picture of set eggs thread ??
Do I have to post my answer again now even though I already filled out the form??

Yah, me too, doesn't seem right? Seems to me guesses should have been made before set date?!

yay! one of my bantams laid an egg, I think it was a bantam campine cross, but we'll see when she hatches.

These are the busiest 2 weeks for the post office for packages. Everyone who orders on line for Christmas do it earlier so that it has time to get there and they use the 2 weeks before Christmas to shop in town. The post office does not have as many people working to take care of the extra packages as they used to. Packages are taking much longer than usual. I finally got my eggs today that were sent last Tuesday and they were not sent across the country (only half-way). I hope that everyone gets their eggs tomorrow!

If anyone set eggs they are worried didn't " sit" long enough, don't turn them for a day or so ( or longer, YMMV) that way you can still get them going but allow delicate air sacks to reattach. I do that on my shipped eggs and got better results once i started that. Not that I have great shipped egg hatches, but I noticed a difference. Also, if you are hand turning, you can put them in egg cartons and prop up the side one at a time to turn...MUCH easier then hand turning a bazillion eggs, and better for your temps, too.

we are all a bit confused it is getting late. Is the egg inhabited incubator an invention? If so we are making threads for each of the contest and will let everyone know what contest are open. Just a little tired right now. I'm so glad everyone is chat and having a great time. I will be having little visions of contests dancing in my head all night as I've been at this contest threads since about 7:30 pm and off and on all day. Count down starting just a little over 12 hours to set time, Unless you are on the West Coast and you have about 15 hours.

Today is set day. I know everyone has a lot of questions. I have to go back and read some posts, as I am a couple pages behind. I was up late and got up early to button somethings down, please bear with us as we are experiencing some technical difficulties, as things have been changed around at the last minute. I still have to get my incubator set up so I will be away from my computer for a little while, even though it says I'm in here...I will try to answer all your questions. Fifteen minutes to go and only one girl laid her egg so far. Still waiting on four more girlies! My one turkey hen has been nesting around, so who knows if she'll start to lay or not. Obviously not in time for NYD (would've had to set them awhile ago), but it'll still be exciting to get my first turkey egg! I have a decent amount of eggs to go in though, plus the duck eggs that were set last week. Even my little silkie/ameraucana girl started laying in time to get some of her eggs in for the NYD hatch!

I was out there at 1130 and there was a line of all 3 of my laying hens waiting for the nest box. I should have taken a picture. Me yelling at them to lay did NOT inspire them to give me eggs, but did make someone poop on my hand....

Came home early from work to set! I ended up not setting this morning so I could participate in the first chick hatched! Glad y'all said something last night or I wouldn't have been able to participate cuz I would have set this morn...that was close! Will post a pic tonight!! Aaaah I'm so excited! Can ya tell by all the !!!!! Bahahahaha

glad you caught it! at one will be fun, Not sure how I'm going to watch in the monster bator, however. it sin the garage and has a tiny tiny window. I have this vision of me spending all new years alone with my nexus 7 tablet in the garage peering into that window freezing my pattoties off.

I set 47 of my own eggs and 6 dz tj's eggs this afternoon, and will set quail later. Here is a pic of my new batorus manliius maximius with DH next to it to show the size. I redid the egg trays, so it is down from 600 to about 500. More if I do smaller eggs. IT has 2 extra hatching trays as well. Its an old, old humidair that is in amazing condition. This will be our first hatch with it!




I hope to be keeping up and getting a chance to chat with everyone now, the next 2 weeks are less crazy then the first 2 weeks were.
