Hahaha it is so funny. I just posted that I have never had any broody chickens... Then today my black hen has been in the nesting box all afternoon, which she has never done. Then she squawked at when I went to check on her, another thing she has never done. Normally, if I catch her in the box, she just takes off running.

Ugghh.. I gotta find an incubator anonymous group! I'm not even set to hatch this group out till the 1st and I'm already thinking of what is going in next.

I can't even keep up with building pens and shelters due to the weather (suddenly hoop coops are really nice).

You all have to stop posting cute chick, goose, duck and quail pictures! I'm wanting it all!

So last night the diy bator had a temp spike to 103F

Went to find the cause, found it, apparently my foot warmer Smudge is an overachiving Broody-cat



So will the eggs be ok?? not sure how long the spike lastered, some mins to an hr...

I hope my eggs are okay. This morning I went to go check on the eggs and the temp was at 104. I set it a few degrees lower so hopefully it adjusts. I think it was because we have had a lot of temp fluctuations outside lately. I don't think they where at that temp. for long though.

Probably a silly question, but do HUMANS count in the cutest baby pictures contest? Rules say all breeds and species are accepted. Either way, I have submitted my own twin boys on the contest thread. I guess we will see!
