Sooooooooo something interesting has come to light.


Remember this week me talking about or Sebastopols and their down?

seems SOMEONE ran to Facebook, posted a photo of some poor goose (who isnt ours) who had been plucked bare and bloody and claimed it was a picture of one of my birds.

I DONT HARVEST DOWN FROM OUR GEESE. I mearly said it can be done, and can be done without butchering the geese. It does NOT make them bare and bloody if done properly. It is controversial, but has been done for centuries with geese living for 20+ years.


Please remember we live in FLORIDA, and our photos reflect that we live in FLORIDA and I watermark everyone one of my photos very specifically and wouldnt be easily reproduced.

Don't fib, we all saw how bare-breasted and bloody your birds were in all of your photos! Gorgeous birds, I don't think anyone would believe that it was your bird in a million years. Some people are just rotten!

I wish we had snow keeps saying its gonna but all we get is some rain and ice , cold weather and dreary clouds , Ill trade someone with snow even if its like 4 feet

I like my snow! Man I love being outside in the winter, even if its just to shovel. We ski, snowshoe, ride, walk dogs. And I make maple syrup in the spring, that is the BEST time in the world to be ouside!

I sure hope you get some snow to have fun in too!!

Snowing and snowing..I need to find my card to take pictures tomorrow. Should be beautiful.

Obviously someone did not know what they were doing if they harvested down and did not stop when they started to bleed. How bright are they if they took pictures?

yep, didnt you see all of those bare chests and bellies? I wont lie when its cold I will pick one up and hold them to warm my hands up lol.

i can handle most things but lying and gossip is deffenitly not one of them. my friend almost got arested cause someone told the police a lie ti cover up what they did.

It's sleet here. I had to scrub brush the entire porch and walkway so G could come home without killing himself on the steps.
Currently, there is one duckling out, one partially zipped, one that's more pip than zip, but it's getting somewhere, plus six seramas (two white, two lighter brown, one darker brown and one blue, and at least one is feather legged!) and one more making its way out.

NYD is going to be HECTIC! I only have one tray that's been devoted to NYD hatch, but that's still a lot, especially with some swap eggs that are an assortment. I'll probably have to turn the turner off and use a tray or two extra as hatching trays, plus baskets to seperate!

Betta stay warm and safe! I dont miss being stationed where it snows at all.
