4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

You know I never even knew there was a Grumpiest Chicken Contest. The anouncement had to have been lost in all the posting? I have a life other than hanging all day to try to keep up with the posts.
I think the grumpiest chicken contest was actually a part of a swap page (at least that's what I got from reading the first post on that thread), they just asked all of us to go on over and vote...

Sally yes I show as a guest reading at least.

geese like to be with geese so best kept at a minimum as pairs. pairs can be 2 males, 2 females, or male/female

All I know...is I got my geese on a whim... went to pick up some Serama chicks, fell in love with her flock of geese. Waited a year, could not take it anymore and called the seller up and went and got 4 eggs. Hatched 2. A month later the seller called and had 3 more goslings that needed a home, went and picked them up. One did not live but a day.

It was a sad little thing. Anyhow... fell in LOVE with the Sebbies. NOTHING.... NOTHING is cuter then a gosling !!

I carried those little buggers around with me, then they followed me all over the place. Slept on my porch and guarded the door when I was gone. I cannot believe how smart they are. They are now in the enclosed barnyard for their own safety. They were getting alittle full of themselves and venturing towards the road. 8 acres behind the house ..but felt the need to cross the road.

They still follow me around when I do chores, holler at me when they want snacks or the food trough is empty. Snatch things from my pockets and play a game of chase. Steal my kids flipflops right off their feet. Start a ruckus if anything is amiss in the barn yard. I can't say enough good things about them.

Good new years eve day all.
I'm just posting to say there is nothing at all happening in my bator
no movement, no pip, no peep, no zips -- nada!

I do have ppl coming over nyday to eat potluck & watch chicks hatch, so I'm hoping the lack of anything right now means
they are waiting to put on a great show of hatching tomorrow ...

Good Luck everyone, esp. those like me who are now trying to keep calm in the face of nothing going on in our bators!

Keep the faith, your chicks will come!

I so want to call my DD and ask her to go check my bator, but I'm not sure I want the kids messing in there... I've already had to settle a fight between the two youngest over the phone!
