That's what mine did too. I've now taken to finding videos on youtube of chicks peeping to try to encourage them to progress a bit, or at least to cheep for me so I can be assured they are still alive! I'm so paranoid right now. I was going to run to the store to get supplies for my brooder, but now I don't want to in case I miss my very first hatch. I'm glued.
The egg doesn't even peep back to me anymore!

8 chicks, soon to be nine!! this bantam is taking FOREVER to hatch
its been an HOUR since she started zipping and shes still not done.. making progress though!

It must have been that full moon last night why everyone is getting so many early pips. Keep watching your eggs. You can still enter in the the first chick hatched as long as it is midnight or after.

Here's my first chick from a home grown egg. Roo is part silkie, it looks like this little one has black skin.

i need to pay more attention, im sitting right here next to the bator and i keep looking, there was a zipper!! i didnt even see him, he was on the other side. i noticed him when he came bulldozing over the others a second ago
