4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Just looked at ebay and found some buff barred cochin bantam eggs and the auction ends in an hour. Definately going to try to get them for the NYD hatch along as well as the eggs from the neighbors.
If those are luckypickens, I have bantam cochins from her hatching now. I ordered 24 eggs, received 26 and 23 developed. 13 have hatched so far with today as the hatch day so more expected!

Yeah, they're from lucky pickens. I love her silver laced cochin bantams and I ordered them 2 months ago but I didn't have as much luck. Out of a total of 27 eggs, I only got 3 to hatch... There were at least 16 eggs with completely ruptured air sacs so it was the shipping that killed them. On 5 developed, and only 3 hatched. It's too bad because she packages them really well. I also want some of her columbian cochin bantams. I'm hoping that these will have a safer journey than the silver laced bantam eggs did.

I am going to have to go down to her place and see her birds. I keep seeing great reviews, and she only lives about 45 miles away. Are her cochins as nice as her RIR's?

Some are, some not so much. Her cochin bantams are very nice and are much better hatchery stock, though I wouldn't say they are show quality. She is, however, a great seller and has many varieties, some of which are pretty hard to find.

Just November 28th and 88 pages already

lets see.. I have 36 eggs cooking in the bator right now that i plan to hatch around the 4th- 5th. then that gives it time to rest and set more eggs!
I expect for all the eggs in the brinsea to hatch (24 of them). the other 12 are in my hovabator. all of them from the hova are dead.
