4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Oh, I give up! Today was busy, and I couldn't keep up for the life of me! I just skipped forward, LOL, though I tried to read everything! I'm so happy to hear all the good news of late peepers! How wonderful to discover they were still with you and hatched after all. mrheinz, I did read how everything was changed after you had your plans set, and how that (probably) caused much of the confusion! Should'a guessed something like that happened, LOL. Yah, such is life, no? Anyway, I still think it was a HUGE success, We all had a wonderful time, I played a few times on those post a lot games, LOL, too funny, and now my post count makes me look like a real talker! LOL. I didn't get to many of the competitions, but enjoyed watching everyone else, and seeing their creativity! It was awesome fun, and I'm planning on joining again some time (though I don't think I can do Easter!) Next New Years I guess unless there is one in between? Thank you all for doing this! ::hugs:: to you all! Great Job!

Oh and all those chick pictures!

Need an Emote that swoons from too much adorableness!

Ravenwood, That is a Saluki in the picture! I have 2 whippets and used to show them and also Italian Greyhounds!
Yes!! It is! I breed them and have 8 of them various ages. Have a litter planned for this spring actually :) I'm impressed since few people know what they are let alone tell from such a non description photo! If you are on Facebook search Faridaat Salukis and you can see pics :)
So we need to work on our camera skills around here (as well as hatching skills but...) Here are my two NYDH chicks "B" & "K" still working on letter correct names, nearly sure B is a boy he acts like a roo, he has actually been finding food and calling K over and giving it to her like a Roo trying to make nice w/ a hen! & K This is B (Maran over Ameraucana) see the fuzzy on the face, ok well it is there IRL B streching his neck, K in background saying What's Up? K in front (color is off, she is very yellow & grey) , B in back
Very cute ... Funny, they look just like my Ameraucana X chicks - I have a blue and a yellow grey one.
Update on my little bandaided chick... she's doing well, has been hopping both feet at a time to get to the water and food xD
Great news,

Where do we input our final hatch? Finally had the last chick hatch, and unfortunately, looks like I get to kill it now. :( Cross beak and part of the skull is missing, so the top knot of the skull is to the right and no eye on that side. :(

Jim, you and your team did a fabulous job! I hope y'all do another as y'all are just awesome people who have devoted tons of time to us! thank you for running this hatch and making it so enjoyable!
Dear Hatchers and Non Hatchers,
I just wanted to THANK all of you for making the 4th Annual NYD a success. As you probably know, this was the first time any of my team or I led a hatch and then to lead one of this size was overwhelming.
I found as we were getting closer to the hatch date, it was more difficult to remain caught up. There was frustration felt by some of you that my team and I were not answering questions posted in the thread. It had been requested numerous time to PM with questions but I fear those requests were also lost in the thread.
My team had everything set up and ready to roll on Dec 10. At this time, there were requests from higher ups to change stuff. This caused a ton of stress for my team. There were many times that some of us were ready to throw in the towel.
Each of us on my team have had personal issues pop up. As a result, it became more difficult to devote the time needed to the 4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long. Reading criticism of our running of the hatch added to our personal burdens. I value constructive criticism, especially when solutions/offers to help are given.
I truly value all of you and am glad that you all participated. Please bear with us as we wrap up the contests. At that time I will have made my final decision as to if I will host another hatch or not. After the events of Dec 10, I told higher ups that I would not host another, but decisions can be changed. I do know some of my team will not be continuing for another hatch. I will make my decision soon enough to be able to give somebody else plenty of time to get things organized.
Thank you all for making this a great SUCCESS!
Jim aka mrheinz77

What, you don't train your chicks???? I had to shut off the chorus line music to get them to stand still for the pictures!

Deb
You are just too funny, Deb! Guess I've been using the wrong music - Big Hair Band rock may be a little too tough on their sensitive ears.
