Hi ya aka Rachel , I'm w/ a homemade 'bator too! How many of us are setting the NYDH in
1) Home made diy 'bator - < raise your hand ya'll>
2.)First time doing an incubator hatch <fess up...>
I'm yes on BOTH , I think after 5 days of tweeks I have the coolerbator behaving well enough for a hatch, fingers crossed
I'm gonna candle/ie flashlight the eggs tonight, mark air cells & letter eggs, although only 20% are light shelled so I'm guessing that will be kinda pointless on most of them.
I still have room for at least 2 more (maybe 6 more, yah I could fit 6 more) eggs than I have, nobody is laying here atm.
Missed out on a great chance at some really really cool free eggs last night from a local-ISH person but it would have been 250 miles round trip (NOT),
so I may call a person down the street just to see if her mutt hens have restarted laying, she has about 2 roos per hen (eek I know) so I'd expect any eggs would be fertile,
Hate to go into the set, w/ empty spaces...
