thought i should candle before I throw them out and glad i did, all but one was dead, so i am hoping he will live!

but on the bright side, my silkie rooster is crowing again! that means he will attract Dart and hes no match for him..

Koda (the silkie) got taken and his back was munched on by a coyote and recovered, got pin feathers (no real fluffs yet) and now is crowing! so proud

Ok, so my mother is probably the world's 'Most Productive Person" tm. It's like she thinks she's a shark, and will suffocate if she stops moving, lol.

So, today she sent me a link to her most recent project: A home-made solar-panel heating system. After looking it over, I can totally see myself doing this for my chicken coop! It's really easy, has cheap materials, and is ingenious! Check it out!

Tip: lower the temp to 97.5 at hatch. They often hatch better at the temp.

I'm so sorry.

Hopefully the reamining one will hatch. I actually very much enjoyed the time that I only got one chick to hatch. The little guy imprinted on me and he was so incredibly friendly. He followed me everywhere and would snuggle for hours. As soon as I opened his cage evry morning, he raced into my hand. The only downside was that he cried whenever I wasn't there so neither of us got much sleep, hahaha.

My oldest is sick (again!) an actually fell asleep on the couch this morning (he NEVER takes naps, so I know he is feeling icky!) and the baby went up and started stroking his head. Sometimes they can be so sweet it makes me tear up

Morning everyone! I'm up and about early, and baking Christmas cookies and sandwich bread while my husband sleeps in. He's so spoiled :p.

I forget who posted about jam made from the garden, but I thought I'd share one of my favorite recipes for chile jam!

It's uh-mayzing!

Oh that sounds like a lot of fun. We're leaving at around 2:00 to go see some family , won't be back until later this evening.
