Good Morning everyone! Finished my chores enough to drop in I set 19 eggs, 3 made it to lockdown (but one didn't look active at that time, turned out a quitter) and had 2 hatch. One hatched upside down, and in hindsight, I should have just made sure it could breathe and left the shell in tact sans the little hole for breathing and let him do his thing. Fortunately, despite my interference, he's doing great. Here are my pictures:
This one suddenly zipped, and after taking this picture, I switched the camera over to video just in time to catch it throwing off the lid in a dramatic fashion and rolling right out of the shell! It was amazing!
He dragged a little blood around, but not much. Cute little bugger!
Then, the upsidedown pip that I had been messing with. Sinde the other one hatched, I waited a few more hours, but the membrane was getting dry, so I eventually removed it and took him out. He still had stuff in his belly, and he bled. It looked awful! But her turned out to be just fine. Lesson learned, leave 'em alone if everything else looks good (good looking membrane, could breathe, leave alone! LOL. I should not have peeled back the shell, and exposed the membrane causing the rest of the troubles!
Here they are drying off in the 'bator
Here they are in the brooder
And here they are again, sweet little peeping fluffy butts
Yuh, I've had chicks come out with messed up navels, just put a bit of flour on em to stop the bleeding.. that said never had a chick that 'smelled really bad'. I'd still separate that chick out at least for a bit - chicks should not smell bad right out of the egg..
Mine are popping out like popcorn - seven out so far!!! I see several more pips.. only one egg looks a little iffy - kind od a runty looking egg and no pip yet. But we shall see. So far I have five blacks, one silver and one buff - all naked neck.

Woot! First chick hatched about 30 minutes ago. While getting photos from camera to puter, the screen froze and now things are all wonky here and I can't get my photo to load here. Aaaaaggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh
Cluck-cluck, glad things worked out for your chicks, they are cute!!!!
Tadpole, hope that chickie does OK, love the little blondies!
