I just took a look inside and the eggs don't look so good. Those that where trying to pip and zip are all dried and the rest doen't seem to be pipping or anything. Tomorrow I will help those that need it and see if anyone else desides to hatch. I still can't get the humidity above 35%. I just put in another tray of water and some more sponges to hopefully that will help.
Could you mist them with warm water?
I moved my bator upstairs on the kitchen table...
Mine is on my kitchen counter!
Raven, will be watching off and on! Congrats on all that have babies! Waiting to see more pics. Tomorrow is the day, for most it sounds like. I hope a lot of folks post pictures
Loving the NN's of course..those babies are cute!
Cool! Not much going on yet, but I'm crossing fingers that by midnight ...

Raven, thanks for the webcam. Helps with the "hatching withdrawal" symptoms

The #2 pip is making it's crack bigger now too. Still can't see in to #1 pip though ... lazy peeps.

Hello all!
Yes, I am finally back. I have been in the hospital, a first time kidney stone attack. How God AWFUL! Then the drugs made me sick.
And to make it all just peachy...then "it" just wants to stay in an party!

I had my college kids come home, they helped me pull off Christmas. Now they have returned home.

We had our first chick hatch about 5:00 PM, December 31! Early, wow, with the way the eggs looked when I candled this surprises me.
It was one of the eggs we collected here at home, laid on my daughter's birthday. It is so cute!

We have about 5 pipping, but I do not have much hope for any of my Welsummers. I candled them, and they all looked empty.
We have opened three eggs, two looked like regular eggs, at day 18! One had some gelatinous stuff. My kids were so bummed!
I was so surprised they didn't even stink!
My goodness, welcome back; I hope you're feeling better! Congrats on the hatchling and fingers crossed that you get at least 1 Wellie.

Ouch! Kidney stones are the worst. Congrats on the chick, and how neat it was laid on your daughters bday. I've got kids with birthdays coming up in January, maybe I should set some to hatch on their birthdays, and of course incubate whatever is laid on their birthdays. Any excuse to hatch, lol.

Now I'll catch you all up on what's been going on while I was MIA: I had my only three Violet Guinea keets die

, a Coronation Sussex go broody on chicken and duck eggs, freezer cold weather, some much needed rain, and now a PIP!

Well... I just finished my "ghetto" brooder!! Wrapped the guinea pig/rabbit cage in feed bags... Now all I need is for my eggs to START DOING SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!

Total chicks - 10 out of the 14 that went into lockdown. Candled the four remaining eggs, I think they are dead in shell but will leave them in until tomorrow juuust in case. My 10 little NN chickies are sleeping happily under the ecoglow. =)
