4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

I have a question for those of you that process your extra cockerals you hatch out, how many weeks are they when you process them?

It depends on the breed. Earliest were sg Dorking crossed with Hatchery Reds, Barred rocks and Marans at 13 weeks. Oldest was 7 months. They are better earlier but I want them to dress out at 3.5 pounds or so.

My kids are really praying! This all started with the wanting of them! PLEASE, OH PLEASE!

Ouch! Kidney stones are the worst. Congrats on the chick, and how neat it was laid on your daughters bday. I've got kids with birthdays coming up in January, maybe I should set some to hatch on their birthdays, and of course incubate whatever is laid on their birthdays. Any excuse to hatch, lol.

My daughter was so thrilled! This is our first hatch, so our first hatched chick was laid here, on our farm, on her birthday! That is pretty special!
My husband was on the fence about this project, but he has decided it is pretty neat, now!
I think we will do that next year...my kids birthdays were Oct and Dec. But that would be really neat to have them hatch on the birthdays! Great idea! Thanks!

That doesn't make sense. You are supposed to pm them at the end of the hatch, which hasn't happened yet, but we needed to be done voting already?

I think there was a mixup on the dates there.
