Ah well, I just swiped 31 chicks out of the hatcher and had to show and tell:



Birchen Iowa Blues on the right, and what one day will be the Silver Penciled variety.

Cool! Serious difference in the left side, 2 varieties there... I haven't hatched any like that really chipmunky one up top, but have had the cocoa brown striped ones.

Just got home from work, got my first Iowa Blue zipping and another just beginning to zip. 3 Bantam Lavender Ameraucana x Iowa Blue chicks out and fluffing up as well!

Gotta go back and read from page 650 or so. Eek.
