4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Hey Everybody

Had to skip a few pages (will catch up later) I've been trying to distract myself. Still no activity from my 3 little eggs. I candled them again and definitely saw movement in 1 , not so sure about the other 2. No internal pips yet. Now I had to add 6 olive eggers who were due for lockdown today.

So my question is...Do I just keep waiting? What are my chances any of these will hatch? Any guesses?

And sadly...when do we record our hatch rate for worst hatch and where? :(

I just wet down their membranes again... 1 more is definitely gone... I figured... She was almost gone when I got to her. The first one is out of its shell and getting stronger! One more is almost out and seems like she's doing fine... All of the others are breathing fine, just not moving to get out yet... It's really hard not to touch!

One of my quail disappeared. Literally disappeared. I think my niece took it out today and the kitters ate it.

Talon told me she took it out, but that had to have been hours ago, and the house was just cleaned top to bottom with no popcorn baby found.

OH NO

Ok, I haven't had the time to read every post. I've gone over every page, but it was more skimming than anything. I noticed a lot of people needed help, particularily with assisted hatches so I just thought I'd say that I'm more than willing to help if anyone wants to PM me a question.

Otherwise, I candled and opened the dead eggs to confirm the deaths this morning. Sad day, all but one was dead. But, that one just hatched so at least I don't have a lone chick.

Hi everyone and thank you all so much!

I've been out of the house all day and came back to a new hatchling, another zipping and another egg pipping! Yowza! I am so amazed. this was my second attempt at hatching, my first was a dismal failure.

Nothing lived.

The one that hatched had horrible leg & feet abnormalities and died the third day after hatch. I felt so guilty, and was not sure I would ever try again. It was only because of this Hatch-a-long and all of the support here at BYC that I even tried again. I don't think I will ever look at fertile egg or a baby chick again in the same way.

Thank you all so much.

Here are my three babies that hatched yesterday. Not the best picyure but the silly things just will not stop moving! Two Silver Penciled Rocks and 1 Campine (I think)

This is just my luck. The fan in my room was turned off last night because it was too cool to have it on. Turns out that was the only thing between me and a massive temp spike.

I lost the three chicks that hatched and the six eggs I had left, 2 BA/RIRs and 4 serama. Nothing is moving in the eggs at all. I even float tested them again and got nothing. Maybe I just wasn't meant to have seramas?
Oh that's awful Raz, so sorry.

I have a real hard time not messing too. It seems no matter what, I get involved too late or too soon.
