Some of my hens that have been taking a break are starting to lay again.

I take a one gallon bucket to collect eggs. I was getting 2/3 of a pail of eggs a day. Tonight it was over flowing.

That's awesome!!! Perfect timing too!!!

Okay, I'm signed up so I guess I'm committed.

My Octogon is occupied for a couple of days AFTER I need to set the duck eggs, so I'm just going to use my little incubator for a few days them move them into the good one once my other eggs hatch.

This will get the ducklings hatched in time for my daughters to see them before driving 1000 miles away to college (literally!)

LOL, sorry if I blew you up with the sign in. This will be our first ever hatch a long. Not sure if I should blame it on excitement to be involved or panic that we would miss out.

Hahaha, I entered a couple times too because I was nervous the first time didn't take!

I can't believe I signed up. The prizes were to tempting and my DH said OK I can have chicks in the basement! I can't believe it..

OK, um WHAT?! We are supposed to inform DH of our intent? uh oh. I've been doing this all wrong!

The Good News is..... I have MF Banty Cochins lined up!! Woo HOO!!! So, I asked the breeder to put them in mail on the 5th or 6th... does that sound appropriate? What are you guys doing?

I was worried about having chickys in the cold but seeing all the people signed up from the northern states makes me feel a little better

I am using an old styrofoam incubator, i hope it works ok. my dad's friend has been using it to hatch duck eggs, but im still nervous. I wanted to do a test but my dad nixed the idea. I hope it works out!!!!!!!! I am going to set some Icelandics, EE's, Welsummers, Dorking and Basque's So excited, it will be my end-of-classes-for-christmas-break present to my self
