Thinking that makes sex-links, but I could be wrong. Maybe it's the roo that has to be red to get sex-links.

Tanryn, still waiting on pix of those quail & OEGB

I got 2 quail out of the 10 eggs from this swap, none out of my 4 & none out of the 29 chicken eggs from 4 different sources, including some of my own. I had a power outage that lasted overnight about a week & a half in & moved the bator an hour & a half away to my new house about 2 weeks in with no heat at the new house for 3 days after. Didn't have very good luck with this batch or the ones that were due the week of Christmas. All 4 of the babies hatched from the 50+ eggs set for the week of Christmas died within 48 hours of hatch. A Scovie & a quail perished during the move, the 2nd quail died shortly after & the chick that was due on the 23rd finally hatched on the 26th or 27th while I was gone overnight & died the next day from leg problems.

I really hope the current batch do better. So far the majority of them look pretty good. I have 4/9 shipped Serama & 4/8 shipped mixed bantams developing & all but 3-4 of mine developing. 9/9 quail are developing as well (from my eggs). I have a staggered hatch set starting the 8th going through the 20th or so and will be setting another 36 or so Monday from a local Amish farm that has a mixed flock of Rainbow layers (EE, OE, Cuckoo Marans & production layers all running together).

Silkie Sensations,
Here are the pictures of the OEGB and Quail. These were taken right after they were moved to the brooder. Do you need updated pictures? Sorry about that, I thought I posted them but I was having picture issues with this website last week and I bet i gave up!

My final count on the little shipped eggs... not sure who sent them... screen name... sorry.
they had a note saying Barred Rocks, and two 'project'...
the barred rocks three hatched! they are doing great...
both projects hatched too, quite late tho, and so they were a bit egg shaped... one did great, one has spraddle, and I"m treating but he/she has a big round soft belly, and appears to be weak on the right side... so, I doubt this one will make it but I have two teen girls and a sister here, and we all go in and care for the chicks... we will do our best! syringe feeding going well, and baby walks for a while, but when he/she gets on the right side he/she can't get back up... no bueno.
thanks!

The 2 that made it the eggs only said OEGB, I had a couple after candleing I tossed that said BB and BR. I don't remember any OEX or SDW. The 2 look the exact same, no color differences yet that I can tell. Want me to take some better pictures of them?

Probably the mixed pen then. Was Quail roo over 2 Red Pyle, 1 Wheaten & 1 Ginger hen. If they were from the same hen we should be able to tell male from female by now.

Here is picture of the new home built for them. I tried hard to decorate it for them, they could care less!

All 6 of them look the exact same so far, all around the same size too. 1 is a touch smaller. A neighbor stopped by and said I had all girls, I asked him how he knew, he said males have white markings on the cheeks. If that's true then they are all girls.
They love to dust bath, wow, they are a totally different color now, smoke grey from the D.E. in the dust bath.
